"He's more comfortable when he's laying down, doesn't fidget as much, his coat is absolutely stunning (they both are), his energy levels are lasting longer... his overall health and mentality has improved"
Dozer has been diagnosed with arthritis since he was 2.5, it started in his right knee. He's a bit of a boof head so it never looked like it had affected him that much, he'd pull up stiff if he was too active (he doesn't have a half way switch, he's either sleeping or 100% full on). I'd given him Rose-Hip Vital before briefly. However this year, one night I notice that Dozer was trembling, like he was cold and wasn't able to walk properly. I took him to the vets the next day, where over the next week or two he would have an X-ray, an ultrasound, bloods and urine samples.
Verdict was his C reactive protein was at 72, more than 7 times the expected amount, and the X-ray had found he has spondylosis in his lower back. This is a form of arthritis that fuses the spine together due to bone growth. I knew then something had to change. Dozer already receives a monthly cartrophen injection, from these findings, he was placed on gabapentin tablets, and I ordered 1.5kilos of Rose-Hip Vital.
We've just finished our first bucket, which lasted 2 months including loading dosage. This is sprinkled on their dinner (I also have Dozers sister, Kyah). Dozer's arthritis is probably a late stage 3, early stage 4. But I have definitely noticed a difference in his overall attitude. He's more comfortable when he's laying down, doesn't fidget as much, his coat is absolutely stunning (they both are), his energy levels are lasting longer, and whilst he's still stiff (especially after long naps, and when it's cooler) his overall health and mentality has improved over the past 2 months. I can't wait to see how he's going in a year and the difference and comfortability that Rose-Hip Vital continues to provide.
